Truth, Goodness and Beauty are the three classical “transcendentals” identified by the ancients as conditioning the created world at all times and in all places. Taken together, the “three sisters” lead the way back to a vision of the whole, to a meaningful universe, because they are in the end names of God Himself. This Advent, as we await the birth of the Messiah, we will meditate upon Truth, Goodness and Beauty, each of which finds its highest expression in the flesh of the One born of Mary.
