Join parishioner Laura France as she explores how our ancestors celebrated the promise of light, both physical and spiritual. In particular, Laura will explore why the Western Church grafted new festivals of Christ onto long-standing pre-Christian feasts. Was this simply appropriation, or was it something more? Was wisdom flowing from one tradition to another? And if so, might it be possible that these festivals point to a true anticipation and expectation of the Light of the World?
