Fall Preaching and Conversation Series

The Good Physician: The Wisdom of Christ in the Gospel of Luke.

In the opening chapter of Luke's Gospel, St. Luke tells his readers that he labored to prepare an orderly account of the life of Jesus, using as many sources and eye-witness accounts as possible. His purpose was to proclaim all that Jesus “accomplished among us” (Luke 1:1). Consequently, in Luke's Gospel we encounter Jesus in the midst of a universal ministry, as he engages both the religious and irreligious, the upstanding and the immoral, the rich and poor, the powerful and marginalized.

This fall, our preaching will center on the teaching and ministry of Jesus in the Gospel of Luke, along with additional opportunities for conversation and learning after both the 8:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. worship services.
