St. Luke's is joining Bethlehem Lutheran Church in supporting a Rise Against Hunger meal-packaging event on Sunday, September 10, 2017, 2 p.m. at Bethlehem Lutheran. 

The "Rise Against Hunger" meal-packaging program is a volunteer-based initiative that coordinates the assembly-line packaging of highly nutritious dehydrated meals comprised of rice, soy, vegetables, and 23 essential vitamins and minerals. These packaged meals have been used primarily to support school feeding programs in developing countries.

We are looking for volunteers to package more than 10,000 meals in just two hours.  It is a fun, lively and rewarding time for folks of all ages - children can also be involved.
