Prosper Placer is a new nonprofit organization whose goal is to train, educate, and support low income families in Placer County who want to improve their economic well-being. The keystone of the program is the presence of volunteer allies who meet with a family regularly to support the completion of goals, help with problem solving, and point towards resources that families can utilize along the way.

Prosper Placer is looking for 36-48 allies to train in March.  To be a great ally you should have good listening skills, process skills versus telling others what to do, ability to form friendship with someone from a different background, willingness to commit time, experience with people.

To learn more about becoming an ally, you’re invited to attend an informational meeting on Feb. 13 at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church or Feb. 22 at Pioneer United Methodist Church. Email prosperplacer@gmail.com to RSVP.
