Advent is a season of expectation and preparation, as the Church prepares to celebrate the coming of Christ in his incarnation, and also looks ahead to his final judgment at the end of time. Consequently, the Four Last Things – Death, Judgment, Heaven and Hell – have been traditional themes for Advent meditation. This Advent, we will explore each of these themes in our preaching as we await the coming of Christ and enter deeper into His mysteries.
