Worship MinistrIes

Our weekly worship depends on the dedication of those who call this place their home. If you are interested in getting more involved in our worship, please contact us

ALTAR GUILD

St. Luke’s worship begins and ends with the work of the Altar Guild. Members of the Altar Guild care for the sacred items used for worship every week and for special services.

Altar Guild teams take turns serving once a month on Saturday mornings. They polish brass, fill candles, and set up the altar for Sunday services. Rotating teams also take turns caring for the altar after worship on Sunday. These sacred duties remind us that God is in all parts of our life, and that preparing for worship is an important part of worship. If you are interested in being part of this ministry, please contact us

LAY SERVERS

Lay servers assist with worship on Sunday mornings by serving in various liturgical roles. Lay servers are trained to perform duties such as carrying the processional cross, carrying the thurible and incense boat, and assisting with Holy Communion.

Lay Readers

Lectors read the lessons appointed from Scripture and lead the congregation in the Prayers of the People. Lay servers and lectors are needed on Sundays at both the 8:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. services. If you would like to learn more about this ministry, please contact us.
