Victorian Attic Thanksgiving

Sunday, June 26: Victorian Attic Thanksgiving

For years, the old St. Luke’s Parish House has served as a thrift shop, fondly known as The Victorian Attic. The volunteers, also known as Attic Angels, were responsible for running, stocking and promoting the thrift shop. On average, they raised between $8,000 and $10,000 dollars a year for our Outreach ministries.

After the Covid-19 pandemic closed the thrift shop, the Vestry had the Parish House inspected by a roofer, electrician, and contractor. Although the roof is in good repair, both the electrician and contractor noted dire maintenance issues that need to be addressed. After receiving the reports, the Vestry voted unanimously to close and clean out the thrift shop so we can begin a conversation about our ministry needs and the future of our historic campus.

On Sunday, June 26th, we will be giving thanks for our past and present Attic Angels and celebrating the many successes of The Victorian Attic at Coffee Hour. Please join me in thanking our volunteers and praying for our parish. Your Vestry and Clergy firmly believe that the Holy Spirit is leading us into new pathways of mission and ministry.
